Humpback Whales, Dugong and the Blue Waves Party in Switzerland

The season is booming with sea creatures of all kinds we are caught in the middle.
This is always a good reason for us being a bit behind on sending out the next Newsletter.

+++ Humpback Whales, Dugong … Great News
Like a truly irregular year in Egypt, with the demonstrations and a severe decline in the tourism the sea responds in a positive way. The last few weeks we have seen sharks and sharks aplenty. Oceanic white-tips which have not been seen much in the earlier part of this year are out swimming about with hammerheads following along.
An amazing sight were the two humpback whales who came to visit near Hurghada, on September 12th. An 8m long whale and a smaller believed to be her calf were cruising the Red Sea making a visit. It is not uncommon for humpbacks to swim in the Red Sea but it does not happen all that often; not even annually.
The next great and amazing gift, and this we witnessed personally, was the sighting of the Dugong on check-dive at Marsa Umm Rus this week. This large sea cow was just grazing along and greeting our divers saying “Welcome to the Red Sea.” It is always a joy to know that they are still around continuing to prosper. These Sirenians are unfortunately becoming rare sights in the Red Sea.

+++ Blue Waves Party in Switzerland
We are starting a tradition, I think. The annual Blue Waves Party in September has gone and went and was once again a big success and a lot of fun thanks to all our friends and guests that attended. For starters we need to thank the weather for being lenient once again on us. We realize that the party has become not only a place for us to see all of you but also a great place for you to see all your dive buddies whom you maybe haven't seen since a past tour.
Thanks goes to out to all who attended and those who helped out setting up and cleaning up. Not least to be mentioned therein Fabio, Monika, Sabine, Silke, Ayman, my parents Heidi and Noldi and Gary who helped lifting those heavy tables at the end.
And now here a few photos from the event done mostly by our good friend Johnnie Moon but also from Silky and Ayman:

+++ New Year's Tour – No longer Full

While we thought it was full it seems a few guests couldn’t make their new year's plans turn out as they wanted and now we have space again on the New Year's Tour. At the party in September there were a few who asked about it and now you's chance. There are 5 spaces available.

+++ I am back and in good spirits

After my long absence to pep up my health I am going back to the Red Sea in November. Those wishing to see me on board or meet in Egypt now is your chance.

The entire Blue Waves Team is again well motivated and smiling at the future.

Keeping in theme I wish everyone a wonderful Fall and see you soon.
