Along with the invitation to our this year's Blue Waves Party on September 3rd in Switzerland we would like to share with you a brief story about something that occurred onboard just a few weeks prior.
+++ Blue Waves to the rescue
While underway from Gubal Island to our next dive spot we noticed a young guest had sneaked on board. As we noticed how young this little Osprey was we started to worry and thought about what to do and fast. He was quite exhausted and probably just had his first flight training, but the part about where to land he seemed to of forgotten. Two members of the crew and myself headed with the zodiac 45 minutes and against waves and wind to return this little bird to a nest that crew had seen. We headed up the hill with the small bird in a towel and a fish, only to be greeted by a very concerned mother Osprey. By the way, adults have a wingspan of up to 2 meters and claws like a panther. We had to distract the mother and set the young bird in the nest and the fish and then run away all hoping that our offering gets accepted back and our gift. It all worked out good and one week later as Blue Waves was near the island we went close by and saw both the young bird and his sibling just as we had left them. Now all is well back on the homestead for our little friend.
+++ Blue Waves Party in Switzerland – September 3, 2010
Many parties with a myriad of guests we have enjoyed onboard Blue Waves and many of those guests touched us deeply. Now it is time again for us to meet, but no not under the burning sun of Egypt but right here in Switzerland. We will be having a party at the Schützenhaus in Oberengstringen on September 3, 2010. Again on this year’s "Get Together" will Brian, our Marine Biologist, share some important information about our fragile ocean we all love so much.
Further surprises are also happening plus there will be drinks, snacks and salads. For those who wish to grill something a grill will be burning the entire evening again; so be sure to bring something to grill with you if you are hungry.
The Ocean Window Team is excited to see you there. Let us know if you'll be joining the party.

How it all begun….
